Onion Grilled Cheese
INGREDIENTS
- 2 Tablespoons Canola Oil
- 5 Tablespoons Unsalted Butter, Softened
- 2 Large Onions, Sliced
- 2 Teaspoons Sherry Vinegar
- 1 Teaspoon Sugar
- 12 Slices of Anny’s Country White Sliced Bread
- 8 Ounces Sliced Gruyere
DIRECTIONS
- Heat up the cannola oil and 1 tablespoon of butter in a large pan over medium heat
- Cut the onions into tin slices. Once the butter is melted, add the onions and cook until dark brown and caramelized
- Add the venager, sugar, and 2 tbs of water
- Continue cooking until liquid id evaporated, transfer onions to a separate bowl and reserve
- Butter 1 side of each slice of bread
- Lay 6 slices of bread, butter side down, on to the pan. Top each with as much cheese and onion mix as desired. Top with another slice of bread, butter side up
- Once bread is golden-borown, flip and continue to cook until cheese is melted and both slices of bread are golden-brown
